Scorton in August |
|
| It is the case that Scorton Mark Lodge No 1103 have been very successful in recruiting candidates for the Mark degree. However, that does not mean that they have become complacent but have again looked at how to improve the lodge and in particular attendance. | |

| It was identified that unpleasant driving conditions on dark winter nights was one discouraging factor. Rather than simply move the lodge dates to the milder and lighter months it was decided to hold a couple of extra meetings to see how things went. | |
| The latest meeting was held in August. The business consisted of a short talk by IPM Frank Hoggarth the subject being Adoniram. | |
Stephen Parker, Mike Singleton, Chris Yates and Bill Renwick |
|
| WM Harry Robinson then presented Grand Mark Lodge certificates to Stephen Parker, Mike Singleton, Chris Yates and Bill Renwick following an explanation of them by your northern correspondent. | |
| Amongst the visitors were two from East Lancashire and Alan Hilton the WM of The Furness Mark Lodge No 36. The attendance for the meeting was 24, which mirrored that for the extra meeting held in June. It would seem that moving from January and November to June and August will prove more popular. As master overseer Neal Atkinson also observed there are last demands on your time masonically in the summer months. |

| An enjoyable chicken curry for supper rounded the evening off nicely. | |
